In math, we reviewed yesterday’s concepts and add how to compare decimals. Worksheets are due tomorrow. We have started a new policy in class due to the lack of worksheets being turned in. Students who do not turn in their worksheets will forfeit their recess until they turn it in.
In social studies, we finished up the Revolutionary War. We got into a great discussion about freedom and what it means. We will do a review tomorrow before students take the unit test on Thursday.
In science, we began talking about the rock cycle. The focus today was what a mineral is and how it is identified. Tomorrow, we will be going into the difference between a rock and mineral, and possibly get to the actual rock cycle.
In reading, several students have already found their biography book. Students need to have their book turned in by tomorrow after lunch. As students read through their biography, they are required to write a minimum of five significant pieces of information from each chapter of their biography.
In writing, students worked in groups to comprise a persuasion argument for a given statement. Students were tasked to work together to find facts and research that supported the given argument. They will present in their groups tomorrow.
Finally, we would like to leave you with a quote today from NBA legend, Michael Jordan, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.”
