Students worked on finding information for their sites. They need to have the Who? When? Where? Why? and How? answered for each site. There is an example of how to do it correctly on the class website homepage. The website address is youngbm.mtnhomesd.org.
For science, we did not finish the presentation as previously stated in yesterday’s email. We were going to do them today, but the internet went down. Instead, we discussed in more detail structural and behavioral adaptations. They will have a quiz tomorrow over both types of adaptations.
In reading, we determined that nearly every student will need to go through some sort of post-secondary education program in order to reach their career goal. We told students to figure out the location and programs offered, and all of the costs by 8:15 tomorrow. We will be moving on to admission requirements tomorrow.
In writing, we reviewed couplets and quatrains in poetry. Students were tasked to write a 6 stanza quatrain about “Life.” This is also due by 8:15 tomorrow morning.
Overall, if students are using their time wisely in class and working during work time, they should have very little to do. However, this is not the case for many of our students. We ask that you remind your child this importance of using work time in class and focusing on getting work done here so they don’t have to take it home. As the year starts to come to an end, students will be tasked with more responsibilities.
Finally, we would like to leave you with a quote today from English poet, playwright and actor, William Shakespeare, “Better three hours too soon than a minute too late.”
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
IN THIS CLASS, IT IS NOT ABOUT WHAT WE KNOW, IT IS ABOUT WHAT WE DO WITH WHAT WE KNOW!
