Math: Mosaic picture drawn on 2x2 inch grid
Social Studies: Have all sites explained by 8:15 on Feb. 22
Reading: Need to have minimum 4 pieces of information that begin to answer “What must I know?”
- Presidents Day (No School) - February 19th
- Library Fundraiser - February 1st - March 2nd
For math, we had students begin redrawing their mosaic plan pictures on their grids. Students need to try having a more carefully drawn picture on their grid paper by Tuesday morning. They will be using these to begin pasting construction paper in class to transform the picture into the mosaic.
For reading, we went over how to write a formal email in order to gain information from a person or organization. Students took notes on the different parts as well as an example. We finished by having students work on finding information about the steps toward their life goal. By Tuesday, they need to have a minimum of 4 pieces of information.
In social studies, we just had students researching information on their historical sites. They have until Thursday morning to have all their sites explained.
For science, students presented their adaptation slideshows. We didn’t finish, so we will finish those on Tuesday of next week.
In writing, we gave the students a chance to work on anything that needs to be finished. We were cut short on time because of the need to move tables to the gym for conferences.
Finally, we would like to leave you with a quote today from American inventor, Thomas Edison, “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
IN THIS CLASS, IT IS NOT ABOUT WHAT WE KNOW, IT IS ABOUT WHAT WE DO WITH WHAT WE KNOW!
